Pro-Tek Mouthguard use and care instructions

  • Since the mouth contains bacteria, it is important that you clean your Mouthguard after each use by using cool, soapy water and rinse and dry it thoroughly before storing in the Mouthguard box supplied.

  • Rinse the Mouthguard with cold water or with a mouth rinse before and after each use.  Avoid contact with hot water.

  • Store and transport the Mouthguard in a firm container (Mouthguard box) to prevent damage and to permit air circulation.

  • Avoid high temperatures or direct sunlight to minimize distortion.

  • Do not chew on or alter the mouthguard as this will affect the fit and possibly damage it or decrease its effectiveness.

  • Do not share your Mouthguard with others.

  • It is important that you have your Mouthguard regularly assessed by your Dental Prosthetist or Dentist to ensure it still fits correctly for maximum protection.

  • You may need a replacement if your new, secondary adult teeth have come through or if your Mouthguard has been damaged or has absorbed a strong blow.

  • Consider replacing your Mouthguard annually or sooner if there is any damage or evidence of unsatisfactory retention.
